ClearSalary ("ClearSalary," "we," "us," or "our") provides a mobile and web application that helps small businesses keep a simple ledger of employee salaries, loans, bonuses, deductions, and payment history. ClearSalary is not payroll software and does not process statutory payroll, tax, or compliance filings. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the ClearSalary app and admin tools, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Account information (name, business name, phone number, and optionally email) provided at signup or invite; staff and salary records (names, roles, phone numbers, pay type, salary, loans, advances, deductions, bonuses, joining dates, attendance, and payment history) entered by an Employer; documents (ID proofs or other files an Employer uploads against a staff profile); your business's account status and sign-up date; basic device and usage information; app-usage analytics and crash-diagnostic data (see Section 6); and any support communications you send us.
To provide the core ClearSalary service — maintaining each business's staff ledger, salary slips, and payment history; to authenticate you via one-time passcodes (OTP); to send service notifications; to respond to support requests; to monitor, secure, and improve the app; and to comply with applicable law.
An Employer can see all staff records for their own business. A Staff member can see only their own salary, loan, and payment records — never other staff members' data, and never the business's settings. ClearSalary's own team can access account data only as needed to provide support, investigate abuse, or maintain the service, and access is logged. We do not sell personal information.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information you store in ClearSalary, including encryption in transit and access controls that limit who can view a business's data to that business's own Employer and Staff accounts. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.
To understand how ClearSalary is used and to keep it stable, we use Google Firebase — Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics. These collect app-usage information (such as which screens are viewed, which key actions are taken, and general device and app-version details) and crash diagnostics if the app runs into an error, which helps us fix bugs and improve the product. This information is used in aggregate and is not used to profile individual staff members. We also use Firebase Authentication for phone sign-in and Supabase to store your business records; these providers process data on our behalf as service providers. Google's handling of Firebase data is described in Google's Privacy Policy.
Our website (clearsalary.in), including the user guide and this page, uses Google Analytics 4 to measure visits and page views. It sets cookies in your browser (for example, _ga) to tell visitors apart and remember basic session information, and reports into the same Google Analytics property as the app so we can understand website and app usage together. This does not identify you personally. You can opt out through your browser's cookie settings or by installing Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
We retain your business's ledger and account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (see Section 8), we remove your data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain some of it for legal, tax, or dispute-resolution purposes.
You can delete your ClearSalary account and its data at any time, directly in the app: open Settings → Account and tap Suspend & delete account. Your account is suspended immediately and permanently deleted after a 30-day grace period. You can't log in during those 30 days, and once they pass the deletion cannot be undone.
When your account is deleted, we remove your Employer profile and your business's data — staff and salary records, uploaded documents, and loan and payment history. We may keep a limited amount of information where the law requires it (for example for tax, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes) and delete or anonymize that once it is no longer needed; backups are purged on a rolling schedule.
If you can't access the app, you can also request deletion by writing to support@clearsalary.in from the phone number or email address on your account. If you are a Staff member, your records are held by the business (Employer) that added you — ask your Employer to remove you, or contact us at the same address and we'll help.
You can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information by writing to support@clearsalary.in. If you are a Staff member and believe your Employer has entered incorrect information about you, please contact your Employer directly first, since they control your business's records.
ClearSalary is a business tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date, and where changes are material, we'll let you know in the app.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information, write to us at support@clearsalary.in.
